After years of whispers and unexplained moments shared by miners and team members alike, we decided it was time to bring these tales to life. This October, guests will have the chance to hear the darker side of Honister’s history through a guided storytelling adventure unlike anything else in the Lake District.
Running from Wednesday 22nd October to Saturday 1st November 2025, the Honister Ghost Tour invites you to step beneath the Lake District fells and experience a haunting journey through the historic mine tunnels. Guided by the flicker of your host’s lantern, you’ll move through the darkness where generations of miners once toiled — a place filled with echoes, atmosphere, and untold stories.
Each tour brings together fragments of history and legend, revealing chilling tales of those who never made it home, strange happenings from deep within the mountain, and the mysterious spirits said to linger still.
More than just a Halloween event, Honister Ghost Tours offer something truly different — part storytelling, part history, and completely unforgettable. It’s a must-do experience for anyone looking to add a touch of mystery and adventure to their autumn visit to the Lake District.
