The Yew Tree Pub

Four centuries of good food & a warm welcome

Est. 1628

One of Cumbria's oldest pubs, four centuries of warmth, real ale and good food.

Foot of the pass

Just 1.4 miles from Honister, the natural endpoint to a big day in the fells.

Dog-friendly

Four-legged adventurers welcome, with their own menu to prove it.

Four hundred years of welcome. Still the best pub at the bottom of a pass.

Tucked into Seatoller at the foot of Honister Pass, the Yew Tree has been a gathering adventurers since 1628. Now thoughtfully restored and run as part of the Honister family, it's where the adventure winds down and the evening begins. Locally sourced gastropub food, Cumbrian ales, and a riverside beer garden, what more could you ask for?

A pub worth coming down for

Nestled in the Borrowdale Valley with the fells rising on every side, the Yew Tree sits at one of the most dramatic spots in the Lake District. Whether you're on the Coast to Coast walking route, heading down from Haystacks, or finishing a day at Honister, this is the pub you'll be thinking about all the way down.
