One of the world’s most in-demand rock, jazz and soul saxophonists, Snake Davis, joins Manchester-born singer-songwriter and guitarist Gareth Moulton for an intimate underground performance at Honister Slate Mine.
Expect mellow music infused with pop, rock, jazz and soul, incredible musicianship and a setting unlike any conventional music venue.

Snake Davis and Gareth Moulton have performed together for years, bringing their relaxed combination of saxophone, guitar and vocals to intimate venues around the country.
This November, they’re taking it somewhere rather different.
Deep beneath the mountain at Honister.
Surrounded by slate, the natural acoustics of the underground cavern will add another dimension to two intimate sets of live music.
Snake is renowned for his distinctive saxophone sound and has worked with artists including Lisa Stansfield, M People, Take That, Tina Turner and Paul McCartney.
Alongside him is long-time friend and collaborator Gareth Moulton, a singer-songwriter and guitarist who also performs with Cutting Crew and Wang Chung.
Together, expect familiar music, stories and brilliant musicianship spanning pop, rock, jazz and soul.

With limited spots available at each performance, this is your chance to experience Snake Davis and Gareth Moulton in one of the Lake District’s most extraordinary live music settings.
What to expect
This isn’t your usual live music venue. Head inside Honister Slate Mine for two intimate live sets in the unique surroundings of an underground cavern.
Each performance includes two 35–40 minute sets with a 20-minute interval. Please allow approximately two hours for the full experience.
What to wear
It’s a real mine, so wrap up warm and wear comfortable, sturdy footwear.
Before you arrive
Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your performance to allow time to park and check in. Late entry may not be possible once the group has entered the mine.
Getting to the performance
Our team will meet you and guide you underground to the performance area. Expect uneven surfaces, low light and naturally cool conditions along the way.
Parking
Parking is £5 per vehicle. Pay online in advance, via the QR code on arrival or in the Honister shop.
Food & drink
Our on-site cafe will be open, so you can grab something to eat or drink before or after the performance.
