If you’re looking for something beyond the usual trail run, this is it.

The Fleetwith Fell Race takes you across rugged mountain terrain and deep inside the mine — combining classic fell running with a truly unique underground section.

One moment you’re climbing towards a summit, the next you’re navigating tunnels inside the mountain. It’s challenging, different, and seriously memorable.

Two Routes. One Unforgettable Experience.

5km – Short, Sharp & Underground

You’ll set off already equipped with a helmet and headtorch, heading straight uphill before dropping into the mine.

From there, it’s a mix of underground running and open fell terrain, finishing with a climb and descent that will test your legs.

10km – Full Mountain Challenge

This route begins out on the open fell, taking you up towards Fleetwith Pike before returning to the mine entrance.

After gearing up, you’ll head underground — then back out again to continue across the fells and towards the finish.

Event Day Schedule
  • 09:00 – Car park opens
  • 09:00 – Cafe open for breakfast & brews
  • 09:30 – Registration opens
  • 11:00 – Registration closes
  • 11:30 – 5km & 10km Race Starts
  • 14:00 – Prize giving
Prizes
  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female (both distances)
  • Fastest to Fleetwith Pike summit (10km only)
  • Veteran categories: 40, 50, 60, 70
Age Requirements
  • Minimum age: 18 years
Kit Requirements (Important)

This is a mountain race — even in good weather.

You must carry:
  • Waterproof jacket & trousers
  • Hat and gloves
  • Emergency food (full energy bar)

There will be spot checks. This kit is for your safety, not just a rule.

  • 5KM Race: £30 per person
  • 10KM Race: £35 per person
